Jennifer Grover, Master’s Student
I am a Resident at Full Life Counseling, which has recently merged with Charlottesville Integrated Psychiatry. I'm training in the AEDP and TCT modalities, offering mindfully attuned, experiential psychotherapy for individuals and couples.
I approach clients not as diagnoses but as people experiencing disconnection from others and self, who have within them the desire and capability for change. I believe that healing occurs within the safety of a warm therapeutic relationship, in which we make space for compassionately exploring our emotions and meaning-making.
My experiences as an educator, my first career, taught me the power of the therapeutic relationship to create an environment for growing and healing, recognizing our own courage and resilience, and building skills that we carry forward on our journeys. Therapy is transformative in both directions, as I'm honored and delighted to work with you.
The following books have particularly informed Jennifer’s therapeutic approach:
It’s Not Always Depression by Hilary Jacobs Hendel
Your Resonant Self by Sarah Peyton
The Body Keeps the Score by Bessel van der Kolk
The Gift of Therapy by Irvin Yalom
Co-Creating Change by Jon Frederickson
Assorted works by Thich Nhat Hanh
